CC has had the unique pleasure of co-writing with Nashville legends, Dickey Lee and Freddy Weller.
In 2005 CC Hagen left his musical comfort zone of South Dakota for the Nashville unknown, with a trunk full of equipment, a handicapped doll, a heart full of dreams and one phone number.
Turns out that phone number was truly a gift from a friend - Johnny Holm... and that phone number was Dickey Lee's. Johnny told Cliff that Dickey would be a friendly face in a big new town and was a compassionate mentor to new artists. Johnny was right.
In their very first meeting, Dickey welcomed CC into his home, gave him valuable songwriting advice and offered a few moments of his time to screen CC's music. Several hours later Dickey had listened to everything Cliff brought. They became fast friends and Cliff has treasured the opportunity to learn from this legend ever since. Dickey also introduced Cliff to award-winning, hit-songwriter Freddy Weller and the three have been co-writing with incredible results. The demo of their first cut together is being polished in the studio. Due out soon, there is already promising industry buzz over the blue-grass style single.
With Cliff on bass, the three are also rehearsing for a revival of the revered Nashville band, "Lee, Weller and The Other Guy." |
