CC Headed to Grand Ole Opry
This
coming Saturday, August 11, will mark the very first
time that Summit, South Dakota's own, Cliff Hagen,
will have the opportunity to play on the hallowed
stage of the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, TN.
The performance means the fulfillment of a lifelong
dream for CC, who will be taking the legendary stage
with Nashville Country star, Andy Griggs.
Born to Calvin and Ramona Hagen of Summit, Cliff grew
up helping his dad on the family farm while attending
school in town. He was inspired at an early age
by his mother, Ramona, to begin taking lessons on as
many as seven musical instruments a week, which led to
him starting his first band at the age of 12.
Cliff began playing with Andy Griggs in early May of
this year and continues to tour the country as his
bass player and back-up vocalist. Says Hagen of
the upcoming performance, "I am very blessed to have
this opportunity to play the Opry, almost 2 years to
the day that I moved to Nashville. I owe all
thanks and praise to my Lord and Savior, Jesus
Christ."
Tickets for the performance are available at a fan
discount through
Andy Grigg's website. Check out the
Grand Ole Opry for a list of all of the evening's
performers. CC is slated to perform with Griggs
during the 7:00-7:30 central slot which also
features superstar Loretta Lynn. The group will
take the Opry stage again as the evening's finale
during the 9:30 - 10:00 central slot.
Don't miss a minute! The show will be aired in
it's entirety on WSM Radio out of Nashville, which is
also available on SIRIUS Satellite Radio, or can be
heard live on your PC through the
WSM stream. Plus, portions of the live
concert are often broadcast on Opry Live at
7:00 p.m. central time on GAC cable network the night
of the show and encore presentations can also be seen
at later dates. See the
GAC schedule for programming details.

Moving to Nashville!!
On a recent
trip to Nashville, TN, some very exciting things
happened for CC Hagen. Probably the most exciting,
was his chance to meet with Nashville Recording Artist
and BMI Award Winner, Dickey Lee.
As an
artist, Dickey has had hits with such songs as “Never
Ending Song of Love”, “9,999,999 Tears” and
“Patches.” His greatest success, however, has come
from songwriting. Dickey Lee has written or
co-written such hits as “She Thinks I Still Care”,
“Keeper of the Stars”, “I’ve Been Around Enough To
Know” and “Let’s Fall To Pieces Together” just to name
a very few.
Through a
mutual friend in Johnny Holm, CC Hagen was invited to
Dickey Lee’s home in Music City. After listening to
the originals from CC’s album, Dickey asked the
singer/songwriter if he was planning on moving to
Nashville. When CC replied that it looked as though
he would be, Dickey said, “Well, when you get down
here, maybe we can write something together.”
Dickey Lee
is currently in the process of pitching several CC
Hagen originals to some very major Nashville recording
artists. As a result of this and some other exciting
developments, CC Hagen will soon be making the move to
Nashville along with fellow songwriter, Jarett
Larson. He does, however, plan to return to South
Dakota to finish playing out some dates this summer
with the hot Midwestern band, Probable Cause.
“I want
to extend my personal and heartfelt thanks to Dickey
Lee. Dickey, thanks for your help, your kindness and
for believing in me.” - CC Hagen
